Privacy + field safety

The site should help the expedition without exposing the expedition.

Public information stays useful, honest, approximate, and delayed. Private offers stay private.

Location safety

The public site reports a city or general area and may delay an update. It does not automatically publish a live GPS pin, an exact campsite, a future sleeping location, or a private host address. The walked-route map is historical, not an invitation to find RC and Enzo at night.

Private trail-angel offers

The help form collects a name, contact method, general location, type of help, relevant date, and message. Those submissions are visible only in the protected administrator inbox. Visitors are asked not to enter a street address unless RC contacts them privately and it becomes necessary.

Guestbook moderation

Guestbook notes do not become public automatically. RC approves or rejects each entry first. Contact information is not requested for public guestbook entries.

Email signup

The site stores the email address needed for expedition updates. It does not require an account. The initial launch stores a private subscriber list for RC; it does not sell or rent that list.

Analytics

The site counts basic actions such as page views, support-panel opens, payment-link opens, and milestone shares. It stores the page path, broad device size, and referring hostname when available. It does not store a visitor’s IP address in the expedition analytics table or use an advertising cookie.

Payments

“Feed a Dog a Bone” links directly to Cash App $keepingitgoing and Venmo @howmanymilesisthat. The site does not process or store card or bank information. Contributions help with general expedition expenses and are not represented as a charitable tax deduction.
