Storms, 14 Miles, and Kindness in Rich Hill, Missouri

A storm, a flash flood warning, a hard morning push, and a reminder that kindness still exists.

Yesterday, we waited out a storm under an overpass. I had tried calling a nearby RV park, but nobody answered. When I walked over, they said they were full and did not allow tent camping, even though I could clearly see a couple open spots.

So Enzo and I ended up camping nearby on conservation land under a flash flood warning.

But God had our back.

This morning, we got up early and pushed hard. By noon, we had already knocked out 14 miles into Rich Hill, Missouri. I reached out to Whitetail RV Park LLC, and at first they were going to charge me $20. But after meeting us, they dropped it to $10.

Now we are set up right next to a brand-new shower and laundry house, and the owner even rolled out green turf for our tent.

Moments like this remind me that kindness still exists. Sometimes the people who have the least reason to help are the ones who step up the most.

One sober day. One prayer. One step. Enzo and I keep walking.
